KYIV (Kyodo) -- Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Monday that the number of North Korean soldiers killed or wounded while fighting alongside Russian forces against Ukraine has "exceeded 3,000."

The figure disclosed by Zelenskyy on social media far exceeds a South Korean National Intelligence Service report on Dec. 19 that said at least 100 North Korean soldiers had died and around 1,000 had been injured.
