HO CHI MINH CITY -- Vietnam installed its fourth president since last year, potentially ending a leadership crisis triggered by an all-consuming corruption crackdown that forced many out of office.

The rubberstamp parliament on Monday voted in favor of Army Gen. Luong Cuong taking over for To Lam, who was acting president and remains paramount leader as communist party chief.
