BARCELONA, Spain -- Dell Technologies, the world's biggest server provider, says the generative AI boom will help bring a major shift to the telecom equipment industry by accelerating the adoption of open radio access networks.

"Open RAN adoption has been slower than what we initially expected ... but I think we are now at this tipping point," Manish Singh, the chief technology officer of Dell's telecom systems business, told Nikkei Asia in an interview on the sidelines of Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
