BEIJING -- Chinese President Xi Jinping on Wednesday held face-to-face talks with Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, hailing their countries' "intimate and effective" cooperation.
The pair met on the sidelines of the Belt and Road Forum in Beijing, in arguably the most-watched bilateral of the conference. Xi addressed Putin as "my old friend" and emphasized that he wanted to work with Moscow to promote global development in a manner befitting their role as major powers.
