Benjamin Vuchot takes on challenge of refilling rooms for Hong Kong-based group

HONG KONG -- Native Parisian Benjamin Vuchot spent the last three decades working with French and Swiss luxury brands like Louis Vuitton and Cartier to court Asia's wealthy and those aspiring to join them.

Now Vuchot, 53, has been called on by the Kadoorie family, among Hong Kong's most storied business dynasties, to lead their hotel business, operator of the stately Peninsula brand, out of a lingering post-COVID funk and the hangover from an unfortunately timed expansion drive.
