China, the U.S. and Europe complement each other in a lot of ways in terms of green technology and markets, so they have broad prospects for cooperation, Xie Zhenhua, China's special envoy on climate change, said ahead of the U.N. climate summit later this year.

At a forum on Tuesday, Xie said he had spoken with his U.S. counterpart, John Kerry, as well as Frans Timmermans, who until recently was executive vice president of the European Commission, about how to take advantage of these complementary strengths to enhance cooperation on renewable energy.
