China's CSC Financial executive steps down amid inquiries

Speculation suggests Li Geping involved in probe of former senior regulator

Chinese authorities took Li Geping, the general manager and executive director of CSC Financial, away on May 29 after a board meeting at the company, sources said.

Li Geping, the general manager and executive director of CSC Financial, is facing official inquiries and has stepped down from the Beijing-based investment bank and brokerage house, Caixin has learned.

Li resigned from all positions at the company for personal reasons, Shanghai- and Hong Kong-traded CSC Financial, traded as China Securities, said late Thursday in a statement. Li was also CSC Financial's chief financial officer and a member of the board's committees in charge of strategic development and risk management.
