China is looking to amend its state secrets law for a second time in 13 years to strengthen the Communist Party's control over the country's work involving state secrets amid an increase in espionage.

A draft revision released by the National People's Congress, China's top legislative body, in late October shows potential changes to around two-thirds of the current Law on Guarding State Secrets, with 10 new articles added.
