Li Yibo, former chairman of Guangzhou Port, has been placed in custody by anti-graft authorities, as the port operator conducts a thorough inspection of construction projects, Caixin has learned.

Li has been detained since early April, sources told Caixin. On April 3, Shanghai-traded Guangzhou Port said Li had resigned for “personal reasons.” A vice-chairman has taken over his duties temporarily until a new chairman is elected, the company said in a filing.
