Three top leaders of a telecom fraud syndicate have been turned over to Chinese police at Nansan, a town on the Yunnan border with Myanmar, according to China's Ministry of Public Security.

Authorities in Myanmar have handed over three top leaders of a telecom fraud syndicate to China as part of a cross-border crackdown on rampant scams.

Police in east China's Zhejiang province issued wanted notices for four leaders of the telecom fraud gang in Myanmar's Kokang region. Myanmar police arrested Ming Guoping, Ming Julan and Ming Zhenzhen on Wednesday night. The fourth person, Ming Xuechang, committed suicide while being arrested, according to Myanmar's embassy in Kunming.
