A top executive overseeing risk control at Tencent Holdings' fintech operation will soon depart as the tech giant moves closer to revamping its financial businesses to meet regulatory requirements.

Yang Jun, vice president in charge of risk control at Tencent Financial Technology, is set to leave the company, Caixin learned from multiple sources. Yang, who is also the general manager of Tencent's wealth management arm Tengan Funds Sales, is likely to return to the traditional financial services sector, sources said.
