TOKYO -- Himeji Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that boasts a striking pale-white tower built more than 400 years ago, is a popular destination among foreign visitors.
With the number of tourists steadily rising, the mayor of Himeji, just west of Kobe, said the city is considering setting a higher price for foreign visitors to fund the required maintenance for the centuries-old structure.
