After being detained in China by a team of party graft busters, Meng Hongwei resigned as president of Lyon-based Interpol, the global police organization has announced.

BEIJING -- China this past weekend stood up and told the global community that it will follow its own norms.

The Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, the Chinese Communist Party's secretive internal investigative agency, early on Sunday announced that the president of Interpol is being detained on suspicion of illegal conduct.
