TOKYO -- How soon will the Bank of Japan call time on negative interest rates? That has been one of the biggest questions for financial markets since BOJ Gov. Kazuo Ueda recently remarked on the policy.

In a Yomiuri Shimbun interview posted Saturday, Ueda said the bank has "various options" once it is confident that Japan has achieved sustained price increases accompanied by rising wages.
