TOKYO -- Russian President Vladimir Putin's recent visit to China will likely have significant geopolitical ramifications as it has made clear that the China-Russia camp and the U.S.-led Western alliance might not be able to reconcile their differences in the foreseeable future.

Putin arrived in Beijing on May 16 for a two-day state visit, meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping the same day.
