WASHINGTON -- Former Chinese Premier Li Keqiang was cremated Thursday after a somber funeral ceremony attended by President Xi Jinping.

News of Li's sudden death came the night of Oct. 26 here, just as Foreign Minister Wang Yi had concluded a meeting with U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
