Sarika Rachuri: Indian commodities markets need their own regulator

India's commodities markets have a long history of ups and downs, but the latest jolt to the sector still managed to surprise.

     On Sept. 28, investors learned that the Forward Markets Commission, which had regulated the sector, would be subsumed by the Securities and Exchange Board of India, the country's securities regulator.
