HAKODATE, Japan -- A third dose of Pfizer's COVID-19 vaccine can boost antibodies against the virus to more than 45 times their pre-shot levels, according to an analysis by Japan's Hakodate National Hospital.
The Hokkaido facility measured antibodies in the blood of 300 medical staffers at the hospital who received the booster in December, nine months after the second dose. The median level two weeks after the shot was 23,544 units per milliliter, compared with 515 beforehand.
