Japan approves Novavax COVID vaccine, adding fourth option

TOKYO -- Japan's Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare on Tuesday officially approved Novavax's coronavirus vaccine, making it the country's fourth vaccine option.

Chief Cabinet Secretary Hirokazu Matsuno said at a regular news conference that the U.S.-based company's shot will provide the country with "some diversity in vaccines."
