Japan approves Novavax COVID vaccine, adding fourth option
Jab, different from Pfizer and Moderna's mRNA vaccines, provides 'diversity'
Novavax's vaccine will be Japan's fourth shot approved for preventing coronavirus infections.
TOKYO -- Japan's Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare on Tuesday officially approved Novavax's coronavirus vaccine, making it the country's fourth vaccine option.
Chief Cabinet Secretary Hirokazu Matsuno said at a regular news conference that the U.S.-based company's shot will provide the country with "some diversity in vaccines."
