TOKYO -- Countries lacking robust health care systems are starting to adopt COVID-19 vaccines delivered through the nose without needles, providing them with a new tool to combat the pandemic.

Indian drugmaker Bharat Biotech International announced in September that its nasal vaccine had received approval for emergency use. Clinical trials had confirmed that infection-preventing antibodies increased as much as with other vaccines.
