CAIRO/LONDON -- A third dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech coronavirus vaccine provides significant protection against the new, highly contagious omicron variant, a recent Israeli study finds.

Researchers from Sheba Medical Center in Israel and a laboratory under the country's Health Ministry compared the blood of 20 individuals who received a second Pfizer shot five to six months prior against another 20 who received a third shot a month prior.
