TOKYO -- Global blockchain company Input Output Global (IOG) plans to launch a "data protection" blockchain system next year that it says will help strike a balance between privacy and security in cryptocurrency, its CEO told Nikkei Asia.

Charles Hoskinson, CEO of the blockchain infrastructure research and engineering company, says its new platform under development, Midnight, will help address critical issues in the blockchain industry for real-world adoption of cryptocurrencies.
