TOKYO -- A ransomware attack on Japanese media group Kadokawa adds to a spate of cybersecurity breaches that have become more cunning and costly for victims.

Personal information of some students and graduates of two correspondence schools run by affiliated Kadokawa Dwango Educational Institute was apparently leaked in the attack, the group said Wednesday. About 30,000 students are enrolled in the schools.
