TOKYO -- Japan will prioritize domestic software for cybersecurity uses, offering subsidies and supporting technology standards to foster the local industry and break away from the country's reliance on foreign products.
As of 2021, domestic companies had accounted for about 40% of Japan's cybersecurity countermeasure products. But for the latest products, the share is often less than 10%.
