DAVOS, Switzerland -- About nine hours after announcing one of slowest economic growth figures for China in decades, Vice Premier Liu He told the audience in Davos that the country will keep the economy open to foreign investment amid speculation that it might not.

Liu kept a cordial tone during his presentation, deeply bowing to the audience before taking the podium after being introduced by Klaus Schwab, the founder of the World Economic Forum.
