Timor-Leste has 'no obstacles' to joining ASEAN: President Ramos-Horta

DAVOS, Switzerland -- Nothing stands in the way of Timor-Leste joining the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, President Jose Ramos-Horta said Wednesday on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum's annual meeting here, adding that it could happen as early as this year.

"There is no obstacle to our accession" to ASEAN, Ramos-Horta told Nikkei Asia.
