DAVOS, Switzerland -- Asia took a backseat at the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum that closed on Friday, as the gathering's typically Eurocentric crowd focused on Donald Trump's potential return to the White House and the ongoing wars in Gaza and Ukraine.

This winter Davos was greeted with the news that Trump won the Republican Party Iowa caucuses in a landslide. While Iowa was just the beginning of a long campaign process, the caucuses served as a reminder of the substantial support Trump enjoys and the "Davos Consensus" has emerged that Trump has a real chance of regaining the U.S. presidency.
