Carlyle in advanced talks to invest in Malaysian drugstore chain

JAKARTA/HANOI -- Global investment company Carlyle is in advanced discussions with Malaysia's Caring Pharmacy to buy a sizable stake in the drugstore chain, three sources aware of the development told DealStreetAsia.

Caring Pharmacy, which sells pharmaceutical, health and personal care products, is majority-owned by 7-Eleven Malaysia Holdings, the Kuala Lumpur-listed owner of the country's 7-Eleven convenience store chain. Sources indicated the deal could reach over $300 million in size.
