Creative Gorilla launches $20m fund to back Indonesian startups

Debut fund is looking to invest in consumer-focused companies

JAKARTA -- Creative Gorilla Capital (CGC), a venture capital firm formed by Future Creative Network (FCN), Malaysia-based Vynn Capital and advertising technology company Pomona, on Tuesday launched a $20 million debut fund to back consumer-focused startups in Indonesia through early-stage investment.

Bolstered by Indonesia's giant consumer market, the fund -- named Gorilla Silverback Fund -- is looking to help direct-to-consumer brands and startups benefit from the digital business ecosystem in the country.
