Indonesia's BNC Ventures takes 5.8% stake in Bank Aladin for $77m

Company will use new funding to meet regulatory capital requirements

JAKARTA -- Indonesian investment firm BNC Technologies Ventures has bought a 5.8% stake, worth 1.2 trillion rupiah ($77 million), in IDX-listed Bank Aladin Syariah through a private placement of shares.

According to disclosures to the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) on Wednesday, Bank Aladin, a digital bank, issued 850 million new shares in the private placement at 1,400 rupiah apiece. BNC Ventures, which is not affiliated with the company, lapped up all the new shares.
