Singapore-based sneaker brand Cariuma steps up funding

Direct-to-consumer shoe retailer raises about $16.5m

CEBU, Philippines -- Cariuma, a Singapore-headquartered direct-to-consumer sneaker brand, has raised about $16.5 million in a funding round backed by venture capital firm East Ventures, regulatory filings show.

Madrone Capital Partners, a venture capital and private equity firm associated with Rob Walton, the eldest son of Walmart founder Sam Walton; Innova Capital; Shanghai Capital Fund and other investors also participated in the round, according to Cariuma filings with Singapore's Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA).
