SHANGHAI/TOKYO -- Electric vehicles were the stars of Auto Shanghai 2023, one of the world's biggest auto shows that opened on Tuesday, reflecting just how rapidly China is adopting the transformative technology.
Sales of new energy vehicles, a category mostly consisting of EVs, are on track to reach 9 million units this year, about a third of total auto sales.
