TOKYO -- Goldman Sachs is looking into environmental investment opportunities in Japan as part of a new $1.6 billion fund, the head of the group's sustainable investing told Nikkei.

The Horizon Environment & Climate Solutions fund, which closed in December, invests in companies that focus on decarbonization and sustainable economic activity. It provides business-related know-how and introduces companies to business partners to support further growth.
