Japan hosts 1st meeting for Asia zero-emissions initiative in March

TOKYO -- Japan will host the first meeting of energy ministers from Australia and Southeast Asian nations on March 4 as part of an effort to support using renewable energy and cutting power plant emissions.

Yasutoshi Nishimura, Japan's minister of economy, trade and industry, will attend the Tokyo meeting, which is intended to build on a concept known as the Asia Zero Emission Community.
