TOKYO -- Japanese companies will start exploratory drilling next year for storing carbon dioxide underground with the help of government subsidies, Nikkei has learned.
The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry aims to select candidate sites for funding by March, with drilling starting that year. Carbon storage projects are being planned at five government-selected locations.
