TOKYO -- American startup Captura will fully launch a business to capture carbon dioxide from seawater as early as 2026, a concept viewed as a low-cost approach to lowering atmospheric CO2 levels.

CO2 can be captured from the ocean at half of the cost of capturing it from the air, Captura CEO Steve Oldham said at a smart-energy event in Japan this October.
