Samsung targets net-zero emissions by 2050, full use of renewable energy

South Korean company uses more power than Alphabet or TSMC

SEOUL -- Samsung Electronics aims to achieve net-zero emissions across all operations by 2050 under its first new environmental strategy in 13 years.

Announcing the strategy Thursday, Samsung said it has signed on to the RE100 initiative pursuing 100% renewable energy use.
