TOKYO -- A Japanese system for calculating and reporting greenhouse gas emissions is set to be adopted on Friday as a standard for Southeast Asia and other regions.

The agreement to adopt the standard will be included in a statement by leaders of the Asia Zero Emission Community, who will be meeting in Laos on the sidelines of an ASEAN summit.
