TOKYO -- Four Japanese companies including trading houses Mitsui & Co. and Mitsubishi Corp. are investing in the first commercially operational U.S. business that removes carbon dioxide from the air, Nikkei has learned.
Mitsui & Co., Mitsubishi and shipper Mitsui O.S.K. Lines have acquired shares in startup Heirloom Carbon Technologies. Japan Airlines also plans to buy shares this month.
