TOKYO -- Japan is exploring legislation to require recycling of solar panels that have reached the end of their useful lives, with parliament expected to receive a proposal as soon as next year.
Solar farms have expanded since Japan initiated the feed-in tariff system in 2012. With the typical lifespan for solar panels ranging between two and three decades, disposal will start soaring in the mid-2030s.
