NEW DELHI -- The U.S. is considering building a large-scale transportation network with India, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, a senior White House official said, a deal for which could be signed at the Group of 20 summit this weekend.

The project includes a rail network linking Gulf and Arab states, as well as shipping lanes connecting the region to India, news site Axios reported Thursday citing confidential sources.
