TOKYO -- Japanese corporations are facing pressure to change their male-dominated workplace culture, after a series of scandals focused attention on gender issues and the #MeToo movement.

Academics and activists say business should focus on the structures and values that enable sexual harassment after recent cases exposed weaknesses in corporate governance and human rights.
