SEOUL -- Amid an estimated crowd of 50,000 people from South Korea's LGBTQ community and their allies, Seoul's annual Pride event kicked off on Saturday, but with a glaring change from previous years.

Excitement permeated the hot summer air as the crowd gathered on cordoned streets that were lined with rainbow flags and banners with messages of solidarity and acceptance. Attendees held up signs saying, "love always wins."
