TOKYO -- Tokyo-based Sakana AI, which is developing its own artificial intelligence technology and is the fastest Japanese startup to become a unicorn, plans to launch its first commercial product as early as 2025.

The startup is currently talking to large enterprises as potential customers, the company's co-founder and CEO David Ha told Nikkei on the sidelines of the Global Management Dialogue, a forum organized by Nikkei and Swiss business school IMD. Launching a commercial product platform next year is “what we are aiming towards,” he said.
