TOKYO -- Farm machinery maker Kubota is expanding its smart agriculture platform to help growers become more efficient and environmentally friendly, President Yuichi Kitao told Nikkei Asia in an interview.
The Japanese company's agri-platform concept is meant to bring food production closer to the retail sector and customers. It would offer solutions to "the overall agriculture industry, which is very inefficient," Kitao said on the sidelines of Nikkei's Global Management Forum, which took place Nov. 9-10.
