Artificial intelligence needs a 'fairness' factor: IBM Japan chief

TOKYO -- Tech companies racing to develop artificial intelligence need to make sure it is not inherently biased, the president of IBM Japan said on Tuesday.

Discussing ways to promote innovation at Nikkei's Global Management Forum, Akio Yamaguchi stressed, "We've learned a lesson that potential risks may arise if we develop services solely on the premise of the majority."
