HONG KONG -- Hong Kong police on Tuesday confirmed that Agnes Chow, the prominent Hong Kong pro-democracy activist now living in self-exile in Canada, is officially wanted for jumping bail and failing to report to authorities by the end of last year.

Andrew Kan Kai-yan, the deputy commissioner in charge of national security, acknowledged during a press conference that Chow is now formally wanted by police. Answering a reporter's question, Kan described her action as "shameful."
