HONG KONG -- The Hong Kong judiciary confirmed late Thursday night that two British judges have resigned from the city's highest court, at least one of them for political reasons.

They are the fourth and fifth foreign judges to step down from Hong Kong's Court of Final Appeal since Beijing imposed a national security law in June 2020, triggering a broad crackdown on dissent.
