SEOUL -- South Korea will extend by one year the employment of dozens of Philippine caregivers, the Seoul city government has announced, extending a pilot program that is part of the country's efforts to expand the role of foreign workers in the economy.

Seoul city government announced Friday that out of 100 nannies that were brought into the country in a pilot program to provide cheaper childcare and housekeeping services, 98 are still in the country, and out of that number, 94 have said they wish to remain in the country to continue working.
