OSAKA -- Osaka's Chinese population has almost doubled over the past decade, with a growing number of affluent homebuyers moving to the city since the pandemic.

Neighborhoods of tightly packed three-story houses with mostly Chinese residents are popping up in Nishinari ward. The sound of Chinese-language radio could be heard recently from one home decorated with red lanterns.
